Assessment types
As per HCPC guidelines, if a client has not had an assessment in the past 6 months, therapists should carry out one before commencing or continuing with a block of sessions.
Saltroad lets you set up different assessment types so that you can price them accordingly and share payment links with the client.
Here's what each assessment entails:
Type | Description |
Standard Assessment with Report | A full assessment session tailored to the client — structured observation, formal tools, play-based activities, or a mix. Includes a written report covering findings, recommended targets, and (for initial assessments) background and case history. |
Standard Assessment without Report
| As above, but findings are shared verbally or briefly in writing rather than in a formal written report.
|
Informal Assessment with Report
| A shorter, focused check-in for when a full assessment isn't needed — for example, a client who already has a recent report, or a quick progress review mid-block. Includes a short written summary of findings and next steps. |
Informal Assessment without Report
| As above, but findings shared verbally or briefly in writing. |
Complex Assessment with Report | For cases requiring extended assessment across one or more sessions — such as EHCP applications, medico-legal reports, or feeding assessments. Includes a comprehensive formal report with standardised scores and recommendations where applicable. |
Complex Assessment without Report | Extended assessment as above, but findings shared verbally or briefly in writing. |
Home programme
Sometimes your services will not fit within the category of sessions or asessments. Saltroad also lets you price them accordingly to share payment links with the client. Therapists typically choose to list Home Programme's privately so that they don't show on their profile for all customers.
Service type | Description |
Home Programme | A bespoke package of support for use at home or at school — activities, strategies, resources, or guidance tailored to the client's needs, alongside or instead of direct sessions. |
