Intro Call Cheat Sheet

A practical structure and tips to get the most out of intro calls and secure bookings.

1. Start Strong & Introduce Yourself

  • 🀝 Explain that the purpose of the call is to get to know each other a little better, outline a plan to help their child and agree next steps.

  • πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ Share your experience (NHS background, school settings etc.) and any relevant areas of specialism to build trust.

2. Show You've Done Your Homework

  • πŸ“ Summarise key points from the case history.

  • βœ… Highlight what the child CAN do.

  • ⚠️ Acknowledge concerns (e.g., "Emma understands well but gets frustrated when expressing herself.")

  • ❓ Ask any relevant follow-up questions to show engagement.

3. Share Preliminary Thoughts & Next Steps

  • πŸ’‘ If comfortable, suggest what the issue(s) might be (e.g. "This sounds like an expressive language delay").

  • πŸ“ Outline your recommendations on what support is needed (e.g. assessment, therapy etc.)

  • 🧭 Explain how often you think therapy sessions will be needed. Will these be face-to-face, online, parent coaching, a blend etc.?

  • πŸ“Š Explain how things work, relevant assessment methods, therapy formats & session structures as necessary.

  • πŸ’° Outline your prices & any options available to them (remember Klarna is available on all purchases)

4. Secure the Booking!

  • πŸ•’ Confirm availability (days/times, online or in-person location).

  • πŸ“Œ Schedule in the first session on the call, don't leave it open-ended.

  • πŸ’³ Ideally, send the payment link during the call & confirm receipt to ensure this does not end up in a junk folder.

  • πŸ”’ Explain that payment secures the appointment and must be made before the session.

πŸ“§ 5. Follow-Up

  • βœ… Send a "nice to meet you" email immediately after the call

  • βœ… Include session details, payment links, and any next steps.

  • βœ… Copy Selena ([email protected]) into correspondence until things are running smoothly.

  • βœ… Follow up if parents don't respond / take action, don't wait for them to reach out!
